What is tritium, and is it safe to own?
Honest answers to the questions we get asked most.
Self-powered light
Tritium is a form of hydrogen that makes a phosphor coating glow from inside a sealed glass vial. The glow needs no power source and slowly fades over many years rather than switching off.
Sealed and contained
The tritium gas stays fully enclosed in its glass vial, the same technology used in watch dials and exit signs around the world. Treat the vial with care and don't break the glass.
Legal to own in NZ
Small tritium vials like the ones we sell are consumer items, commonly used in watches, gun sights and keyrings. If you're not sure they suit what you're doing, just ask us before you buy.
Buy with confidence
Your payment is handled by our secure card and Afterpay providers, so we never see your card details. If something's not right with your order, flick us an email and we'll sort it out.
